L.A. Young Adult Choir ( G.M.W.A )

About Me

The Los Angeles Young Adult Choir is a component of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA). The GMWA is the largest gospel music convention of singers, musicians, directors and songwriters. It was founded by the late great, "King of Gospel", Rev. James Cleveland. In 2007, this convention will be celebrating it's 40 years of existence. The Los Angeles young adults began as the Los Angeles youth under the leadership of the the late, Rev. B.J Fears. During this time, they were under the directorship of Sandra Dendy and the late, Michael Saunders Sr. The name was changed to young adult 4 years ago under the current administrative leadership of Sunset Ravanel and the musical directorship of Tony Jones. Since then, the choir has accompanied such gospel artists as: Donald Lawrence, Ted & Sherri, Ricky Dillard, Kim Burrell, Tonex, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Hezekiah Walker. They didn't just sing on the same stage, they sang with those artists, LIVE!! The choir was also a part of pop vocalist, Natasha Bedingfield's video, "Unwritten". This group of young people is growing both vocally and spiritually. They desire to be an example of young people loving God who are striving to better themselves to present excellence in music and ministry. If you would like to contact the choir, you can send them a message via MySpace or send a correspondence to P.O. Box 4093 Inglewood, CA. 90309.
