Biography
It has been on for 12 years (1995-today) for Noa Eshkar's radio show Across the Universe on WHRW 90.5FM.
Her show has continually gained popularity.
Noa is a radio producer, radio announcer, engineer and a DJ. It is the specialty show of world music that gained the interest
of a wide variety of listeners.
Noa's quote:
"When we have more understanding about musical cultures, we can use the music as a key for general understanding
about global issues since music is the universal language".
Work experience:
Travelling with an african band Samba Mapangala & Orchestra virunga from Kenya tour '97 U.S. & Canada and producing their music video for Lugard’s Productions, a music production company;
News team and later promoted to Production Manager of BTV,a television station in Binghamton.
Responsibilities: working with producers on coordinating and planning television shows.
Noa always loved listening to music from all around the world, and her love for world music brought her to a radio station which gave her
the head start as a radio show producer.
This is her labor of love which helps her to widen her listeners' horizons. Noa believes her listeners deserve the best, and that is exactly
what she wants to give them.
Across the Universe treats world music from an ethnological point of view as well as entertainment.

includes music information, interviews with famous musicians and emerging
artists, interviews with people who can talk about their musical cultures and experience, and coverage of music festivals.
Among the interviews are:
Melanie from Woodstock, Samite of Uganda, Baba Olatunji, the master drummer from Nigeria, Oliver Mtukudzi, Thomas Mapfumo of Zimbabwe, Sheila Chandra, Los Lobos, Musafir and the list goes on and on.
The show's goal is to understand the culture of where the music is coming from and contribute to international understanding with the hope
for world peace.
