My name is Pierre Hassenboehler and above all I play guitar in the French band STEREOTRYP . Our sound is rock-funk, completely different from what I do on the side. My solo stuff is more pop, experimental, soft, weird, freaky, eclectic... Actually I'm fairly proud of it, and I hope my love of music & guitar is obvious in it.

PRIMARY COLOURS : few songs between the flowers (2006)
Born 25 th of December, 1982, I have always been surrounded by music, due to my father, Jean, a great blues rock player. I grew up with the records of BBKing, SRV, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, Rory Gallagher, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers Band, Joe Walsh... Jean never tought me music, but at 18, my love for Grunge Music, especially for Kurt Cobain and Nirvana guided me naturally to pick up a guitar. I immediately fell in love with the instrument...
...it changed my life forever.
Time passed until my ass was violently kicked by a video, "Off the map" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I watched the tape like a psycho a few times per day for 3 or 4 months. The sound, the attitude of the guys, the guitar playing of John Frusciante, and the vibes of Chad & Flea, were exactly what I was searching for in music, and what I keep looking for until today. Of course I'm mostly a fan of their early stuff (84-91) and their "apoteose" album "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" but I've such love for these guys that I will always be interested in their musical activities ---THAT'S MY RELIGION---
It opened me to funk, disco, pop, punk, stuff that I cross with my "classical" rock & blues education.
Playing in a rock band became the purpose of my life.
The Dream came true in 2004, when I met Julien, Ben & Neil, such good friends (forever thank you). We gave life to STEREOTRYP (from a word game with stereotypes, and travelling through space (stereo)).
Today STEREOTRYP allows me to practice my favourite activities: playing gigs, writing songs, recording albums, playing guitar, & more than everything, being surrounded by wonderful people in wonderful ambiances. Rich parallel universes!
