Bowsie

Gerry Leonard and Susan McKeown are from Dublin and met in New York's East Village at the end of the last century. They then discovered that they had both been classical music students at the Municipal College of Music in Dublin at the same time when they were teenagers in the 80s. Gerry has performed lead guitar duties with David Bowie, Rufus Wainwright, Duncan Sheik, Laurie Anderson, Cindy Lauper and Donna Lewis, among others, and has released 2 solo albums as Spooky Ghost (www.myspace.com/gerryleonard).Susan has performed and/or recorded with Natalie Merchant, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Linda Thompson, Billy Bragg and The Klezmatics, with whom she won a Grammy award in 2007 for the album 'Wonder Wheel: Lyrics by Woody Guthrie.' She has released ten albums of original songs, traditional songs and collaborations (www.myspace.com/susanmckeown). Together they formed Bowsie, where old folk songs are surrounded with ambient soundscapes and loops.
