General Nitwit is a hard working, hard rocking, beer drinking, punk rock band with fast rock n’ roll riffs, energetic garage drumming and a women’s voice that kick ass.
In September 2007 the two friends Jocke and Marcus rented a rehearsal room in the city of Örebro. Their plans were just to rock out and have fun.
They called their friend Matilda and asked if she wanted to sing and soon they had made some great songs.
After a few weeks they had become a complete band and in november they recorded their first demo, called "Tired Of Thinking". The demo contained four songs.
In Januari 2008 they got their first gig and a month later they recorded five new songs. The new songs ended up on a CD along with the old songs, with the name "Best Of General Nitwit nov '07 - feb '08"
They kept playing live and rock out but in june high school came to it's end and the band suddenly stood without a bassist and guitarist.
As Jocke started his studies at Boomtown Music Education in Borlänge, Marcus came along and they started to make new songs. They recruited a new guitarist, their friend Simon who lived just a couple of miles away. A couple of months later their newly found friend Oscar started to play bass with them.
Matilda got stuck in Örebro for one more year but she never stopped rocking out with her band!
