Common name: Common Long-Necked TortoiseScientific Name: Chelodina longicollisAge: ~3 years (can live to over 80 years!)Sex: (?)Likes: Food. Anything. Insects (crickets, moths, snails, worms etc), Turtle Pellets, fingers, frogs....Dislikes: sudden movementsAbout me: I was rescued from the mouth of a hungry crow. The size of a 5 cent piece, I was little more than a few hours-hatched when I was taken lovingly underwing. I have since grown to the size of a 50-cent piece over a period of 2 years. Totally stunted in growth for no apparent reason I am now a midget-turtle and will probably not grow to my usual adult-size of around 25-30cms in shell diameter. My two tank buddies are a pair of splendid green tree frogs which i'd just love to get a taste of, if only they'd go for a swim......
