I am here for Friends

About Me

I recently moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (capital city!) from Madison Wisconsin, (also capital city!) I am greatly enjoying my new state, the beautiful mountains, and all the new scenery.
I work in Non-profit land in the field of domestic violence advocacy, primarily in the court system. I travel between six counties in PA. It's all about trying to get communities to be helpful in their response to domestic violence victims.
MOTHERHOOD: I have two grown daughters. They are both doing their own forms of activism. Currently, they live close to me, but that will change, as they are both making plans to live overseas, (and I don't mean Europe. They enjoy countries that offer more "rustic" living....)
CHURCH: I am active in a church here in Harrisburg. It has both traditional and contemporary music, which I care about since I sing on the worship team. Right now, I'm meeting people, have joined a small group and Sunday School class and am trying to break them in gently to what a friend has called "Laurie's unique personality!"
I love to laugh--people tell me I'm funny, and I have a secret wish to try stand-up comedy sometime on an "open mike" night!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who are smart, funny, interested in others, unconventional. People who aren't afraid to stand up for what's right. People who love to laugh and see the humor in life.
