About Me

Drummer Dan Pell. (TBD)Soprano saxophonist Heath Watts was born in Butte, MT and currently lives in Philadelphia and New York City. Watts' style is heavily influenced by the blues, jazz, improvisation, and classic rock (60s and 70s). Watts believes that improvisation allows him to express all of his influences without being dominated by particular genres. Watts plays only the soprano sax because he believes, as Steve Lacy did, that playing multiple saxophones is polygamy. The music and styles of John Coltrane, Steve Lacy, Evan Parker, and Cecil Taylor, with a heavy dose of B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, and Robert Johnson helped to shape Watts' personal and powerful style.
