Faintly was originated by Ian Ketterer and Justin Regner in late 2006. After about a year of heavy practicing and writing, the duo picked up a drummer (Ian Leigl) and headed directly into the studio to record their 2007 Demo CD. Knowing Faintly's sound could not be fully realized without a guitarist, the band turned to longtime friend Dale Tikkanen in December of 2007. Faintly was now a full band and ready to play live. After getting 5 shows booked, they had to cancel all of them due to Ian Ketterer needing open heart surgery on February 29, 2008. Ian being only 23 years old, it hit the band by surprise. Because open heart surgery requires both lungs to be collapsed, Ian had to rebuild his lungs as part of his recovery process in order to sing again. The band began booking shows two months after Ian's surgery and quickly started attracting fans and press alike. Soon their hard work and dedication paid off, landing them a TV Spot on The Urban Theater TV Show in October 2008. With the addition of their new drummer Mason Tikkanen, the band continues to build their fan-base while writing new material and delivering impressive heart-felt shows.
