Located at 1028 Scott Boulevard in Covington, the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center is a multidisciplinary arts venue for all ages and provides events, educational programs, and art exhibitions to the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati community. With five art galleries, a magnificent, newly renovated turn-of-the-century theatre, and a newer education center, The Carnegie is the largest arts venue in Northern Kentucky.
The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center is located in Covington, Kentucky ten blocks south of the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati.
Housed in a former Carnegie public library built in 1904, we are a 501(c)(3) organization serving the region with gallery shows featuring new and emerging artists; eclectic theatre performances and free and low cost arts education.
This year marked the long awaited start of renovations to the facility’s beautiful and historic auditorium. The 468-seat gem will be home to arts, family and community events. With the completion of the theater in March of 2006, the Otto M. Budig Theatre at The Carnegie becomes the premiere arts venue in Northern Kentucky. The December 2005 issue of Cincinnati Magazine named the Carnegie Theatre renovation as number one in its annual “Best of the City” issue.
The Carnegie has recommitted itself to the surrounding community by hosting more than two dozen events free of charge to local groups including the Northern KY NAACP Job Fair and the Day of Peace rally against domestic violence. This outreach has brought more than 4,000 new people to The Carnegie. The Carnegie just won the “Agency of the Year” from the Eastside Covington neighborhood organization, OASIS, in recognition of those efforts
