About Me
Edgar Crockett is a musician, composer and educator living in Northwestern Illinois. As a jazz trumpeter and director, he has performed with Jimmy Heath, Tom Harrell, J.J. Johnson, Louie Bellson, Clark Terry, Buddy Di Franco, Urbie Green, Bill Watrous, Alex Acuna, Willie Pickens, Danillo Perez, Stefon Harris, Javon Jackson, Lynne Arriale, Steve Davis, Thomson Kneeland, Jim Snidero, John Clayton, Diego Urcola, Jon Weber, Geoff Keezer and many other jazz greats. As a commercial trumpet player he has performed with Ray Charles, Roberta Slack, James Ingram, Peabo Bryson, Maureen McGovern, Shirley Jones and many others.
His music is commercially released on Summit Records and Sea Breeze Jazz.
His compositions are available from Ludwig Music and TUBA Press.
Edgar Crockett holds a Ph.D in Composition from the University of Iowa, a Master of Music in Composition from Arizona State University and B.M. in music education from James Madison University.
He is currently a professor of music at Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois.
