Brian Martin is a lyric, musical theater tenor with an exciting two-octave range that spans from B flat to high B flat. He has trained his voice solely under the guidance of Henrietta Pelta, a graduate of The Juilliard School, for the past eighteen years. Throughout the ‘90s, Brian also studied acting with Larry Moss and Michelle Danner at the Larry Moss Studio in Santa Monica. In the new millennium, he moved to New York to continue perfecting his acting abilities with Kimberly Vaughn at the Kimberly Vaughn Performance Studio.
Brian is currently working with ASCAP songwriters, Michael Ricciardi and John Nugent, in Los Angeles on recordings for several of their original musical theater conceptions. Some original demo recordings include the characters of Pride in
Sevenly, Michael in
The Runaway Heart, John in
A Little Bit Of Broadway, Mallory in
The Wild Swans, and Mike MacDonald in
Young MacDonald.
Brian is also involved with the new, original musical,
You Made Me Love You (http://www.ymmly.com/), by Guy Chandler and Elliot Anders, in which he recently portrayed the role of Frank Gumm, Judy Garland's father, in the first staged reading of this show.Other professional acting credits include Jean in Strindberg’s
Miss Julie at NYC’s historic Henry Street Settlement, Charlie Dalrymple in
Brigadoon, Custus in
Crazy For You, Fredrick in
The Pirates Of Penzance, and Harvey Johnson in
Bye Bye Birdie. Brian has also performed with the L.A. Music Center Opera in
The Macropolis Case. Other theater roles include Stephen in
When You Comin Back, Red Ryder?, George Suggs in
Suggs, and the Young Man in
Summer Tree.
Brian has worked extensively in Master and Musical Theater classes in New York with such notables as Arnold Mungioli, Stephanie Klapper, Jeanine Tesori, Adam Guettel, and Bill Russell.
