We were so much younger...how to explain that we are stronger.

About Me

Hmm, how do you summarize yourself in one parragraph? It's like writing your own eulogy...there is so much to say. That is why you let other ppl do it and wait until you're dead so they are nice about it. Let me start by saying that I don't usually think up dark analogies to creep ppl out on the Internet. I have an unusual love for food, cooking, and wine specially if shared with good friends. Love to meet ppl and having awesome conversations with anyone that has something to say (one of my best conversations was with a bum at a bus stop). Love music, photography, modern art, dance, theater, and literature, which makes me admire anyone that has an artistic bone in their body (I wish I had the talent). It's pretty hard to get me mad, but closed minded comments will do it. I am down to earth spontaneous, outgoing, and up for anything. Love to travel and meet ppl of other cultures, I am also into foreign languages. Drop me a line if you wanna talk about astral travels, Salvador Dali, vampires, The Real World, Dave Matthews, Steve Lawler, Stalin, or whatever else you want.

My Interests

Too many to mention. I get bored easily, so I do a bit of a lot. A few constants? Wine, traveling, NPR, books, New Orleans, Jazz, politics, art, chocolate, hookahs, belly dancing, sushi, Korean Barbeque and candles. Not limited to that list and not necessarily in that order either.

I'd like to meet:

Banksy

Music:

Jazz, indie rock, house, tribal, trance, country...anything that is not all over the radio in my personal time. Love to dance to some hip hop, salsa and merengue, but I usually won't go out of my way to listen to it. I HATE REGGEATON. I also have to admit to a small obsession with Dave Matthews.

Other cool cats: Nicholas Payton, Satchmo, Ludwig van Beethoven, Ella Fitzgerald, Joaquim Gilbrao, John Mayer, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Steve Lawler, Dmitry Shostakovich, Peter Tchaikovsky, Danny Tanaglia, Sasha, Daft Punk, Miss Kitten, Garth Brooks, Kenney Chesney, Tim Mcgraw, Rascal Flats, Bebe, Enanitos Verdes, Ricardo Arjona, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Marroon 5, Los Prisioneros, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Live, Portishead, Tania Libertad, Angelique Kidjo, Billie Holiday, Yerba Buena, Manu Chao, Dizzy Gilespi, Mofro, Nova Lima, Miles Davis, John Coltrain, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, James Blunt, Jason Marsalis, The Neville Brothers, Kermitt Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers, Rebirth Brass Band, Norah Jones, Joss Stone, Outkast, Biggie Smalls, The Roots, Erikah Badu, Common, Frank Sinatra, Arturo Zambo Cavero, Carlos Gardel, Shakira (in Spanish please), Etta James, Dinah Washington, O.A.R., John Frank, G Love and the Special Sauce, Snow Patrol, NOFX, Bush, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Incubus, Foo Fighters, Jane's Addiction, Nirvana, Metallica, Juan Luis Guerra, Ely Guerra, Mana, David Grey, Grateful Dead, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Gorillaz, The Police, Justin Timberlake (but I keep that in the closet), KT Tunstall, Pete Fountain, No Doubt, They Might Be Giants, Tool, Radiohead...Yeah, you get the point. You can say I have pretty eclectic taste.

Television:

Hate reality TV, but I am a Real World Junkie. I can veg out to MTV or VH1, in between the History Channel, and some CNN. The Food Channel rocks as does Bravo (Top Chef baby). I am addicted to Nip/Tuck, but get mad at myself for watching since it has gotten so ridiculous lately. Yes, I realize I watch crappy TV, but it is what it is. The day Sex and the City ended, I went into a 24 hr depression.

Books:

Love Anne Rice, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jorge Luis Borjes, Edgar Allan Poe, Isabel Allende, Pablo Neruda, David Sedaris and Oscar Wilde

Heroes:
