Played guitar for 27 years now wow!... must be doing something right. All sorts of stuff from punk to jazz and heavy metal. These days prefer my acoustic although the Strat gets an airing every now and then when I feel like being loud.Like to play off the wall rhythm sometimes (guess that’s where the Santana bit comes in). Some stuff later with big guitar chords.Fav. guitar at the moment is my Gibson J45, also use the strat and a 1957 Hofner Committee.Grew up in Stockport, market town in Cheshire on the edge of the Peak District. Great being so close to Manchester and all the music stuff going on from mid 70’s onwards. Always in and out of bands and saw some good people rise and some fall..No one before me in the recent family history was musical, mums maiden name is Walsh, which is Irish, and I guess that Arthur Walsh came across on the boat from Dublin bringing his musical genes with him!Glad to say its passed on, Matt is an excellent drummer and Jack a mean guitarist and trombonist (right word??)Anyway I now live in what is really my home ground (on my Dads side). Yes the surname is correct – Royle as in the TV show and beat this my mum is called Barbara! Its Norman and the first record of our surname was in Northenden in 1069, 3 years after the Conquest, a place less than 5 miles from where I grew up. Jersey being part of the Duchy of Normandy I’m back home I guess…There’s a saying for a distant Irish connection – Plastic Paddy. Maybe it’s Plastic Bean too…Enough already, hope you enjoy my music, lots more different stuff to come as well as gigs in the island. S
