Ms. Conde was born on October 24th to Hispanic American parents in Washington Heights New York City. At the tender age of 5, her kindergarten teachers regarded her as a talented child with a tendency to entertain her peers. She attended Catholic grade school and took singing lessons under much encouragement from her mom. Dr. Maredia Warren, an accomplished organist and music teacher, was another source of Vanessa's encouragement. At age 17, Vanessa had been accepted into Westminster Choir College as a Vocal Performance Major, a prestigious music school in Princeton New Jersey. At Westminster, she encountered exceptional teachers but faced many challenges. Her counselor discouraged her from becoming an opera singer, as the industry contained minimal representation of Hispanic American artists. This made Vanessa even more determined to succeed despite the odds. She participated in the NJ State (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and placed 8th in the state as a Sophomore (1992) and 6th as a Senior Undergraduate (1997). She founded the Black and Hispanic Alliance Support Group for minority students. Before transferring to Montclair State, she was awarded the 1993 Campus Leadership Award. At Montclair State University, she majored in Vocal Performance and studied voice under former New York City Opera baritone Edward Pierson. She performed extensively at Montclair with Maestro Oscar Ravina and showcased in two Opera In The Park concerts. During the summer of 2000, Ms. Conde performed at Club Ozone in Miami to a crowd of 1000 with Detour Records and at Club Heaven in New York City. She was featured in October of 2005 on the Telemundo morning show in the NY/NJ area. She has collaborated with Will Essa on Dance The Night Away (a Toronto based producer) and Sal Chisari of RuffBeat Studios who produced Vanessa on two dance tracks including her hit, "For You" released on Detour Records. This past summer was a busy one with appearances at Club Serena with SoundGroove Records in New York, an audience of 400 plus at the Jersey City Puerto Rican Festival, and the Gay Pride Festival at the Pier. This BMI songstress is currently working on several projects for the new year 2007 with talented producers and remixers. Her recent interview and live performance of "Dance The Night Away" left DOWNSHIFT Radio's DJ Soul Heaven in Heaven! www.beatport.com/conde to buy "Peace & Love" released June 2006 on SOUNDGROOVE RECORDS!
