About Me
*** ANY FRIEND REQUESTS WHOSE PROFILE CONTAINS MATERIAL OF AN OBSCENE, INAPPROPRIATE OR OBJECTIONAL NATURE WILL BE DENIED.***
Kevin Bennett was born in the jazz and blues rich city of St.Louis, MO and as a child was relocated to Mississippi, the home state of his parents, where he started singing in the childrens choir (sunshine band for all the C.O.G.I.C. people) and eventually in the young adult choir (Puritan). Kevin has always had a special gift that shined among his peers. He has been singing since he was a toddler and was influenced by artists such as The Winans, The Clark Sisters, Commissioned and many others whose number is too many to name. Though gospel music is the root of his influence, he enjoys the sounds of Stevie Wonder, the late Jackie Wilson (who was a distant relative) and his all time favorite is none other than the great "Donny Hathaway". Kevin has shared the stage with the likes of many, both Gospel and Secular, including Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, and others whos number is too many to list. Kevin also toured as a background vocalist and as a featured soloist with American Idol, Ruben Studdard to whom he remains a close friend. Kevin as a veteran member, has also appeared as a featured artist on several recordings with Emtro Gospel recording artist, L. Spenser Smith & Testament . Kevin, now residing in Tuscaloosa, AL where he finished college and met the woman of his dreams, Miss Stillman College 2000, Rhonda Richardson Bennett, can be heard on any given Sunday leading Praise Worship at The Greater New Testament Church under the Leadership of Bishop L. Spenser Smith and musical genius John Jackson, Jr. who is the Music Director and producer of the Testament projects. Sharing the stage with many great acts throughout his life has defintely influenced his desire and life-long dream of sharing his gift with the world. So, in the words of Kevin himself, "Much love and support to everyone out there who's on a mission to manifest God's Purpose for your life through the ministry of music/arts".
