If ever there was an example of a "Good boy" gone "Bad", it is Douglas Branson, also known as D-BOY. Born on August 12th, 1986 on the Northside of St. Louis, he moved to the southside to live with his father until he was 12 years old. He then moved in with his mother in Hillsdale and by 14 he was dealing drugs. The first turning point for D-BOY came from local rappers E & Gerald, who introduced him to the expressive art form. A media class at Roosevelt High School gave him access to the recording studio and the chance to record beats, skits, short-movies, and music videos. His music video, "Get Your DVD", won a first place award in competition.
After graduating from high school, Doug found a job, but unfortunately that was not to last. He was fired following a physical altercation and Doug turned back to what he knew best, "Trappin" and the street life.On January 21, 2007, D-BOY got "Jammed Up" for drug-trafficking on a Class B Felony. A possible 15-year sentence and impending fatherhood was the shake-up he needed. D-BOY's second chance came when his lawyer "Spank The Case Like A Bad Child", and he avoided jail by enrolling in college. As a media major, D-BOY is working harder than ever at a career in rap music. The birth of his daughter has been a positive force in his life and his desire to achieve his goals.
