Here's the scoop. I'm involved in a lot of activities and business ventures, but I've decided that this MySpace account will be all about things I like that don't really have to do with what I do for a living, a/k/a, "work".
So, what do I like? Well, I'm a musician, and my primary instrument is drumset, although I do also play other percussion instruments. I enjoy many different styles of music, but my first love is jazz. Coltrane, Miles, Dizzy, Duke, Sonny, etc.
I like to be involved in a variety of music projects, from quartet jazz to big band to progressive rock and fusion. This keeps things fresh and helps me to continue to grow as a musician.
I also like fun things like good food, good Scotch, fine tobacco. To the extent I can stomach it, I try to follow current events and national politics. However, my tolerance level is pretty low.
I could be described as a bit of a gear-head when it comes to drums. For a long time, I had a written rationalization here on my profile for the number of drumkits that I owned. Since I've now exceeded my self-imposed quota, I can't in good conscience leave that rationale posted. While the number of kits in my "inventory" seems to fluctuate, I can reasonably estimate that I have had over a dozen sets come through my hands in the last year or so.
