About Me

Theres so much to say about me and the life I lead, I wouldnt know where to begin. To start, i'm not your average 28 year old. Unfortunately, many are still screwin around, living in the now, which is usually thought of as the way to live. But even better, I think is to live in the now, but prepare for the future, which is exactly what I do. Currently I am an Exercise Physiologist (I am a recent graduate of Columbia University, finally, and am also close to becoming an RD (registered dietician). Once I go back and complete the masters in nutrition I may either pursue a doctorate in Applied physiology, or I might even head to med school and eventualy become an Endocrinologist with a concentration on neuroendocrinology. In the training industry I currently hold 4 cerftifications 3 of which are considerfed the top in the industry. Im certified by the industry standard ACSM (American college of sports medicine), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and also certified by the NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association) to train professional athletes which is part of what I wanna do, (i'm a CSCS, certified strength and conditioning specialist), and well the truth is, i'm still not sure what I want to do, I want to do it all. I guess thats why I took a few years off after college, to find myself. It worked out though, in that time I was able to establish my company, and clientelle base. My company is called OPT, which stands for Optimum Performace Trainers. (www.OPTrainers.com coming soon) We basically cater to anyone from your regular average gym goer, or someone interested in getting started to pro Athletes, CEO's, executives, business owners, and those who dont have the time to go to the gym, but have the resources to conduct personal training and/or physical therapy at home and anyone else looking for high quality training and health/nutrition/lifestyle advice, which I do through consulting. Some of my clients have mansions out on Long Island, and the others in Manhattan have gyms in their buildings and what not, others all I need is a physio ball, theyre body weight and some dumbells and I can give you just as good a workout in your living room. Secondarily, I do some fitness modeling, and some acting. Ive been in Men's Health a few times, Mens Fitness, and other random fitness related magazines and ads, and appearances. As for the acting, I do that less frequently. Ive been in a movie, (stepford wives), I was on access hollywood, and appeared in people magazine, vogue, elle, and one of those other girly magazines through appearances I've made blah blah blah. Im not into the entertainment industry really, but ultimately it's the market I want to be in and stay now that I'm finished with grad school. I figure if I cant be a celebrity (although who's to say I wont be), I might as well train them lol Well, if ya wanna know more, keep reading on, I do other things than work haha or you can always ask me, or you can check out my personal and soon to be business homepage www.AndrewAponick.com. The site will be fully operational soon and will be a very comprehensive website pertaining to fitness, nutrition and overall lifestyle improvements, articles, advice, and video/pictorial content of me and eventually other trainers, much of it free, and some of it accesible for a small membership fee and/or pay per viewage like workout/training videos etc.
