About Me

BALANCEBiographyBalance was inspired by music at a young age, listening to people playing instruments around him from as early as 3 years old. Always fascinated by music and how it pieced together, Balance found inspiration in almost every genre of music. As a teenager he was introduced to the Hip Hop scene listening to freestyles, writing down his thoughts and ideas for song concepts. At 16 Balance became serious about getting involved with music and started recording demo tapes and practising freestyles.Around 2004 Balance (previously known as Jinx) recorded his demo tape entitled ‘Cometh The Hour’ with artist ‘Myth’. A year later the partnership ended and Balance began a solo career. Quickly adapting to making music on his own, he dedicated himself to setting up a home recording studio and learning how to produce and record music. In 2006 Balance proudly released his first official compilation CD from his own ‘Green House Effect’ studio with his closely affiliated production partners ‘TFD / Psycho-Ward’ and ‘Trz / The Souljah Clique’. The compilation entitled ‘Rise of the City’ featured artists from various areas of the UK, including Kelz, Sausa & Da Label (from Bristol) Late & 10 Shott (from Wolverhampton) Manage & CLG (London) and various upcoming young artists from around the South West. The release received high ratings from magazines such as Out of Hand and Rago Magazine as well as being featured in Hip Hop Connections Magazine (HHC) twice. As a live artist Balance has performed in a variety of venues around the UK, including Bristol, Liverpool and Devon supporting acts such as ‘The Souljah Clique’, ‘Section 8’ and ‘Legacies of Life’. As a featured artist on the ‘Increase the Peace’ CD (presented by Kelz) Balance performed regularly during and throughout the tour, gaining appreciation at every event.Other releases Balance has featured on in recent times include ‘The Souljah Clique – BaggaMics 2’ (2005), the ‘Section 8 – Mixtape’ (2007) and due for release soon, ‘Sausa – Ancient Scriptures’ and ‘Big Top – Roll Up Roll Up’.Coming soon with 3 releases set for 2007/08 is the second edition to the Rise of the City series, a compilation CD from Balances younger brother T.S and the highly anticipated full length album ‘Balance was Born’.Stay posted for more information coming real… soon.

Bristol, UK back up in this for what’s another superb release from the Section8 imprint that so far has unleashed one of the South-West’s unsung hip-hop heroes; rapper & producer TRZ. Here we get twenty-three tracks that UK Hip-Hop fans are gonna love and adore. Peep ‘H20’ feat Klez from The Souljah Clique which is the first highlight to the CD, and also check out how Wolftown’s 10SHOTT and TRZ from The Souljah Clique kill it on the catchy ‘Yesteryear’. Lui continues to impress as the CD goes on, and solo tracks impress as do further collaborations with the likes CLG & MAMAGE and MYTH. LATE from Wolftown pops up on ‘Full Moon’ and kills it with straight-up bars, and on the title track Lui really comes into his own. This is another strong release from a label that is promising to deliver a lot of product in 2007. I like this label, and after peeping this CD you’ll understand what I am on about. Respects to Lui for a tight CD and I await more from artist and label hopefully in the near future.Review by Tricksta

Sounds Like: REVIEW OF RISE OF THE CITY PT1 "Bristol Stand up collaboration album with lots of heads repusenting on this.Good production and a nice flowing sound. Alot of U.K acts have skill but there albums are often slow and hard to get in to.this album however has a nice flowing sound with their own production mixed in with sum big beats. it's nice to here a westcountry accent on a a hip hop track rafer than a standard wannabe U.S sound. with tracks about real life in the U.K and lack of so called Gangsta shit this is well worth buying for all the lovers of homegrown talant-props to BALANCE-TRZ-KLEZ------------LEROY JONES-OUT OF HAND MAGAZINE NOV06
