About Me

Sheriff Marshal Lawman, The Wagga Wagga Kid and DJ Bonanza play country and western music every Saturday at The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road, London N1.
It's both kinds of music: Guitars that twang like snapping heartstrings. Violins that weep like widows. Pedal steels that howl like abandoned dogs. Pianos that tinkle like windows shattered by angrily flung bar stools. Banjos that duel like rivals for the affections of some (doubtless) no-good, cheating woman who would be best interred under Jacob's sycamore. Music evocative of a good man's love being dragged behind the bolting horse of female fecklessness across a landscape comprised largely of cactus plants, sharp flinty stones, and unexploded ordnance. Music of three chords, and the truth. Music that will honky your tonks, tumble your weeds and swoggle your horns. Music that could get a "Yee-haw!" out of a tombstone.
Beer will be served, that you may catch your tears in it; customers will, however, need to bring their own ass to kick. There are also copious amounts of bourbon.
Entry is free.
