About Me

BIO
Born in 1970 in Luxembourg, Steve R.I.O.T. started DJing 1987
1989 he signed his first resident contract in the legendary "The Flying Dutchman" (voted twice into the Top Ten of best international clubs in germans music magazine SPEX) and stayed there for 12 years.
As resident, Steve played every style from alternative rock, over New Wave, Big Beat, Reggae, HipHop and every over style an open mind can imagine.
During the ninties Steve and Dr.Gonzo, formed Luxembourgs first ReggaeSoundSystem called ANAISSoundsystem. Both played in every known club in Luxembourg. Apart from Djing they organised concerts, raves, events...and were always on a journey onto sound. They promoted bands like FLUYD or Permanent Confusion and DJ's such as Franky de Reuter, Droul, Chook. From 1996 to 2000 they were the opener for Luxembourgs biggest electronic festival, called "E-Lake". After 8 successful years ANAISSoundsystem split, mainly for private reasons.
1990-1997 - During the nineties Steve had two radio shows on Radio Ara (Lux) called Molotov Cocktail and Beatzmachine.
2000-2008 - Steve mixes Breakbeats, Liquid Drum'n Bass or all styles from Dub to HipHop, Funk, Breakbeat, Ska, Dancehall..., but he keeps on returning to Reggae and all the styles that developed out of it.
2006 - Steve R.I.O.T. supports Gospel Emcee in his HipHop project as a DJ. They opened for DeLaSoul (Rockhal/Lux) and played 2 gigs at the "Freakstock" Festival in Germany.
2007 - Steve played around 25 gigs in Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
He performed at "God save the DJ" in Lille/France, was on stage with GOSPEL EMCEE to promote GE..s new album "Operation Sonlight" and hosted around 50 artists in his alcohol- & smokefree bar in Brussels (BE), called akaZOE
2008 - Steve played a lot in Brussels and again at the "Freakstock" in Germany and after 8 years again at the "E-Lake" in Luxembourg. He still mananges the akaZOE Bar in Brussels, where he spins more or less regulary as a resident DJ.
