About Me

I don't put much stock into the "hive mind" mentality that is so very common on the internet. I'm a firm believer in thinking for one's self, rather than letting the crowd think for you. I don't do things to be popular, or in turn because they are popular. I don't listen to music because it's the flavor of the month, or watch a TV show because the latest teen dream or middle-aged hearthrob is on it. It makes no sense to me to do something just because everyone else is doing it (I know, I have a MySpace, however I didn't sign up because it was "cool". I signed up because it's a great way to stay in touch with my friends and family.). If you only follow the crowd, only do what's popular, you're never really yourself. You aren't able to speak your mind if you're speaking from the hive. You are borg in that case. Not that there's anything wrong with the Borg, but sometimes, there's nothing wrong with being an individual.
Be yourself. Love what you love, like what you like, do what drives you, what fuels your passion, be friends with who you like, not who everone else expects you to like.
And just stop giving a shit about what other people think. You are YOU, not a reflection of them. It really doesn't matter in the long run if you're not the person someone else hoped you would be. They're looking for someone else, and trying to fit you into a mold you were never meant to fill.
Just be happy. Be yourself. And if you're not happy, do what it takes to change that. I know it seems difficult, but it can be done. It's simply mind over matter.
Yes, this is now my bio section. I'm not a simple person (though if you actually know me, you might disagree), and trying to describe who I am, what I like, my passions, my faults, strengths, weaknesses, loves, dislikes... it doesn't tell you who I am. It never will. It can show you a glimpse. You might see a facet of who I am, but not all of me. Not who I really am. So if you're so inclined, get to know me. Know who I am, how I think, what I love, my hobbies, etc. You're not going to "know" me via this page, via these words. You may learn some things about me, but you won't know ME.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Dude, you're asking for trouble with this one. I assure you. I listen to every genre. Yes, that includes polka. I like music, I live music, my life has a soundtrack that is constantly updated with classics and new songs. I will probably like your band. Unless you suck. And then I won't.If you REALLY want to see what bands and musicians I like, head on over to my ultra spiffy blogtastic blog, there's a big fucking list right there. It's ribbed for her pleasure and everything. Maybe it isn't. But you'll just have to either take my word for it or get your ass over their and read. Your choice, really.

Television:

.. I don't have cable, so I don't watch much tv anymore. The TV I do (or did) watch includes the following: FUTURAMA!!!, The Tribe, Scrubs, Days of Our Lives, Good Eats, Feasting on Asphalt, pretty much anything on the Discovery Channel & History Channel, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Crank Yankers, Lost, Heroes season 1, Jenny Jones back in the day, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, hours upon hours of Headline News coverage (I'm boring, shut up), Veronica Mars, I can't think of more. You can't blame me, really. I haven't really watched TV since July '07.

Books:

Too many to bother mentioning. I like to read. Sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, fiction, non-fiction, biographies, autobiographies, true crime, short stories, long stories, boring stories (though not as much). I love books. I don't read them, I absorb them. I devour them.I might eventually add a big fat fucking list of all the books I've read that I can remember the titles of. I've read probably near 500 books in my lifetime of nearly 27 years, so you simply must forgive me if I forget a few titles or author names now and again. And if you won't forgive me, you can fuck the hell right off.

Heroes:

Spider-Man, Superman, Batman (especially Batman, because he's awesome), most of the Justice League but not Aquaman. I am also fond of the X-men.Oh, you meant MY heroes? My grandmother. Walt Disney (and no, fuckers he was not, in fact anti-semitic so stop with that shit, okay?), Jim Henson. People who are no longer alive, but made a big impact.
