The ulitmate girl next door
You're the perfect girl for most guys
Pretty yet approachable. Beautiful yet real. What Famous Pinup Are You?when i was little i had an imaginary friend named Beady who had a sister named Tatchi (look i was not even 5...) (actually, i've heard that having an imaginary friend is a sign of genius.) anyway, i cut my hair off when i was 3 or 4 because i wanted to look like my boyfriend Stephen. i use to tell fairy tales into my tape recorder. then i discovered Michael Jackson, so i sang Thriller into my tape recorder instead. my mom use to have me do ballet performances for her friends en masse. this was in addition to my class performances in which i once played a Morning Glory (this is where you say Awww!). Then i grew up and learned that the world can be a very harsh, cold place. my mom's penchant for abuse grew with her mounting life disappointments and that's where my strong belief in Civil Rights came about! for years i wore black (before i knew of Johnny Cash, hmmm) and cried a lot while listening to The Church's Starfish album. i often wished that i was adopted, because i was what Marissa Pinkola-Smith calls the "Ugly Duckling". no i wasn't hideous it's a psychological thing. Now i am a beautiful person inside and out, with lots of flaws to keep me humble. i still sing all the time just not into a recorder. those teenage years somehow took away my performance spirit and i am now very shy about most performing arts (this is where you say "Aww" again but in a sad tone).

Heroes:

I miss Nina Simone... Leonard Peltier and Mumia al Jamal for taking one for the team. Though your bodies are trapped your minds are free. Thanks for your endless work behind bars in efforts to make better lives for those of us on the outside. Mary Dann for her strength, courage and understanding of how little money means in the longevity of your people. Marla Ruzicka also for her courage and compassion for those without names and numbers. May these women's bodies rest in peace but their souls live on in the efforts of others. You make me proud to have known about you and light a fire in me to be more involved.
