About Me
As the “bling†era of modern day Hip-Hop music moves closer towards it’s demise, the vibes that are emitting from the collective masses have begun to grow anxious for change.
Due to the exploitation and commercialism inflicted on Hip-Hop by Corporate America, the music, culture, and movement have become shells of what they once used to represent.
The once enlightened, politically aware, and socially educational message of rap music has been compromised, and has become supplanted by a vision and lifestyle of materialism, violence and misogyny. Recognition and popularity of rap music among the American, and global population in recent years has caused today’s rap artists and groups to become so entranced and intoxicated with the dreams of fame and fortune, that a mind numbing, socially unconscious, deadly ignorance has been parasitically embedded into the soul of the movement.
As a result, the origins of Hip-Hop culture have become foreign concepts and have been nearly forgotten. Thus, the rap movement has suffered enormously because it has been cast into a darkness that has smothered and poisoned many of the unique and special characteristics and values that once were an integral part of original Hip-Hop music.
HOWEVER, from out of this darkness now emerges “Keepers of the Light.†This four man collective of artists advocate and bring hope for a better state of mankind through their unique voice of rap music. Their objective is to bring to the masses, an intelligent, enlightening, politically aware and socially relevant, brand of Hip-Hop music. “Keepers of the Light†is a rap group that is part of an emerging class of rappers within the Hip-Hop community who are soldiers and saviors for the salvation of the music and the movement. Together, their objective is to rescue Hip-Hop culture and music from the abyss of commercial exploitation into which it has fallen.
The “Keepers of the Light†diligently oppose any and all-negative exploitation of rap music, and, instead, through their music they spread a message that is spiritually conscious, politically aware, mentally enlightening, and inspirational. The “Keepers of the Light†are four artists, who are allies, in full support of the promotion and the importance of these lost qualities. They believe that soon rap music must and will undergo the changes that are desperately needed by humanity, if there is to be any hope of saving the roots of the movement, the culture, and the music from becoming forever lost.
Let your light shine…
