The truth is in you.

About Me

Alittle rap ditty...(to the tune of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song)

Iiiin burbs of Sacramento, born and raised
On the stage is where I spent most of my days
Dancin' 'round, actin'-and-singin'-all-gothy-all
Shootin' some viddies on my handycam.

When, now it's no surprise,I said, "Sac is no good!"
So I thought I'd choose an SF neighborhood.
I got in one little car, Mom and Pop I did pity,
They said "I can't believe you're moving to that crazy Big City!!

I pulled off my degree on the 5-year plan,
And I yelled to the world, "Yes I can, yes I can!"
I looked at my city and knew I was in love,
And I'll sit on my throne when I rise above.

Oh yeah, and www.melaneenelson.com

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

I'd like to meet:

Your mom. And some famous people. And some famous dead people. Maybe I should get off this damn computer and meet my neighbors first. How novel.

Anyway.

My 1920's Name is:
Dovie Leota What's Your 1920's Name?

Music:

Classical, electronic, jazz, whatever moves me (and that's nearly everything). Depeche Mode is, and has been for a long time, my favorite.

Movies:

Artsy, Obscure, 80's, SciFi, Fantasy, Adventure, Sappy British, Classic, Indie, Documentary, Horror, Animated, etc.

Oh yeah, my own stuff:

Television:

I very rarely turn it on (I'm much more likely to be reading, on the net, or watching DVD's for at-home entertainment), but when I do, it's usually: The new Battlestar Gallactica, the Simpsons, All My Children, PBS (past and present, from Nature to Doctor Who), the Discovery Channel, or the news. I do have an occasional gluttonous devouring of a sitcom or a reality show-- mostly when I'm PMS'ing.

And this is hilarious...

Books:

Harry Potter, The Parable of the Sower, Pride and Prejudice, Shakespeare, Cookbooks, dystopian Sci-Fi-- anything that holds my interest, whether it be fantasy or utility or something in between. I'm nuts for health mags, too.

Heroes:

My friends and family.

My Blog

"Lucky"

So I rehearse with my burlesque troupe, the Solid Goldiggers, at the Rx Gallery on Eddy Street in SF. Not the safest neighborhood, although I must say the crackheads there are mostly harmless. Except ...

Beauty-- a response

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or only skin deep, or otherwise resting purely in sight, then what is a blind person's perception of it?  I was thinking of the movie "Mask" the other da...
