About Me

This layout is from WhateverLife.com; get yours today!
• My name doesn’t have an ‘h’ on the end, people get it wrong quite a lot. Hanna. No ‘h’, see.
• I was pretty scared about turning 20 and not being a teenager anymore, but it’s not so bad.
• Music is my life, my degree and my passion, I can get a bit annoying when I don’t stop talking about music. I can’t help listening to a song and thinking about what the lyrics mean or why that little guitar passage is there, sometimes I wish I could just listen to the music and not think it means anything! I love the effect music can have on your mind, body and soul and how a few notes can create so much emotion. I’ve only ever met one person who feels music the same way I do.
• I drink. A lot. I love going out and having a nice time, but always dread the morning when I find out what stupid things I’ve done! I apologize in advance to most people I go out with!
• The Rosé wine at the Union is fookin ace. Just don’t drink a whole bottle, believe me.
• I’m a mezzo-soprano and sing in St Michael’s Choir in Southampton in the holidays and Keble Choir once a year. I’ve sang in quite a few Cathedrals including Winchester, Sheffield, Carlisle and Chichester. No-one can drink like Keble Choir!
• I have a bit of an obsession with the 1864 Sheffield Flood, I’m not sure why but I’m just fascinated with it. If it’s not a subject that interests you, I really recommend you don’t get me started on it, I won’t shut up!
• I am a gay. Go me.
• My life could actually be a sitcom with the random situations I get myself in. For example, on Saturday morning at 7am after a night out, I found myself in some flats at Hyde Park known affectionately as ‘Tranny Towers’, off my face, with a bunch of friends, a trashy (but so so lovely) tranny, 2 cats, a woman with what appeared to be reptilian skin and possibly the strangest woman I’ve ever met, who we decided to call Day Release.
• I am a Southampton FC supporter and I will be ‘til I die!
• I play the bodhrán (and occasionally the spoons) at Ceilidh Soc.
• I’m from Southampton in Hampshire, right at the bottom of England on the coast, where the Titanic sailed from. I didn’t like it when I lived there but I realise how much I loved it when I moved to Sheffield. It’s amazing when I get off the train and I can smell the sea and hear seagulls and I know I’m home.
; • My home-made burgers are the best you will ever taste.
• I’ve got three cats at home who I fuss something chronic. I don’t tend to make such a fuss of Howard my goldfish in Sheffield, but I still love him to bits.
• I love accents except mine, which is a strange West Country/Hampshire farmer-like drawl with Yorkshire in it. I prefer Northern and Midlands accents, they’re so distinctive whereas Southern accents all sound the same, it’s boring!
• I have a Ben n Jerry’s addiction. They tried to send me to rehab for it, but I said no no no.
• I can’t draw.
• I’m a Christian. I like being a Christian. Please don’t take the piss.
• I love where I live. I live down in Neepsend, near the big Tesco’s on Infirmary Road and the Ski Village and yes it is the red light district and mainly consists of lots of factories, but the history is amazing. I’ve always been fascinated by local history and I love that there is so much on my doorstep. The area was completely destroyed by the Sheffield Flood and as a result revealed……no Hanna, shut up.
• My flat is ace. I live with one of my oldest friends and his lovely boyfriend is around a lot too, so it’s a big gay flat. We have a little balcony that overlooks the river and the ducks, as well as giving an amazing view of Sheffield. I’m dead lucky.
• I love Tesco cookies, but not the ones with nuts in.
• I talk about The Beatles much more than is necessary. I’m doing my dissertation on them and the cultural impact they had on the world. I’ve always been a fan but got more into them over the last year when I was introduced to some of their stuff that I hadn’t heard before by someone. The first time I heard Tomorrow Never Knows was just amazing.
• I can speak a bit of French, but not that well.
• I’m a smoker, but I’m looking forward to the smoking ban. Not just for the smell but to shut the bloody anti-smoking nazi’s up!
• I’m not a vegetarian but I tend to eat quorn a lot.
• I don’t have the internet in my flat yet and it drives me mental! BT are pricking us about something chronic.
• I’m confident, but not cocky.
• My favourite film is V for Vendetta, you have to see it.
• I’m very affectionate which is something I’m quite proud of.
• I’m a very open person and I don’t judge, I’ll talk about anything sex, drugs, rock n roll whatever. A lot of people feel they can talk to me and quite frankly anyone who listens to me and Leanne talk doesn’t want to talk to us again!
• I have absolutely no fashion sense.
• I get a lot more sleep that I actually need, try getting me up in the morning, it’s hilarious.
• I should be revising instead of doing this.
• My favourite drink is Southern Comfort and Lemonade, seriously try it even if you don’t like whiskey.
• The Riverside Pub in Shalesmoor is the best pub in Sheffield. It is.
• I’m pretty slow when it comes to common sense, I’ll sit and tell you all about music and history and things but then I won’t be able to work out how much change I need for the bus.
• I don’t lose my temper very often, but I don’t like myself when I do.
• I’m constantly on a diet.
• I’ve got a terrible memory.
• I love the fact that I’ve always got people there for me. You know who you are and you all bring light into my life.
