Who Am I?I am Nick Eden, New Media Consultant for indie labels. I started off as an intern for Hidden Beach Recordings. I've been working in the industry for quite some time now including working in radio(Clear Channel), promotions(Khao & Grand Hustle), and internet marketing(Big Cat, Loon, Grip Magazine, etc.)I want to give some of you up and comers some advice. Learn as many aspects of the industry as possible and you will make yourself a hot commodity. I do marketing, promo, graphics, I'm an accomplished singer and songwriter, and I use all of this on a daily basis to further myself and my family. Many of you are multi-talented, just make sure you master those talents and you'll be just fine.OK, people ask what New Media is and what do I do. New Media is any form of media, not traditionally used by a particular industry. For example, in the nineties CD's were new media, as were tapes before them, 8 tracks before them and now into today, different forms of internet useage(iTunes, Snocap, etc.).What I do as a consultant is expose artists and labels to those forms of media that they are not versed well in themselves. My main concentration is the internet(net exposure, iTunes placement, online promotions, graphics, internet radio, etc.) I do not, I repeat DO NOT work projects for mainstream r&b or rap. I've had my fill of that from the Grand Hustle, and Big Cat Days. I concentrate now on soul, neo soul, progressive hip hop, and so on. So for all of you indies out there who need your project worked, get at me!
