Blending pure b-girl terror with a deft musical touch, Thorn has been hailed by
critics throughout Australasia and Europe as one of hip-hop's most promising
talents.
Beginning her career in 1996, Thorn lent her talents to youth workshops as a
dance coordinator and recording artist. She was also involved in Indigenous
media as a television director and radio host. With a growing reputation as a
ferocious liveperformer, 1997 saw Thorn head to Europe for a series successful
shows across Italy, Germany and Switzerland where she was invited by
platinum-selling Polygram artist La Pina to record vocals for her "Piovono
Angel" album. While in Italy, Thorn also featured with DJ Gruff on his EP "II
Suono Della Strada"and music video clip.
Since returning to Australia in 1998, Thorn has recorded with chart-topping R&B
artists Kaylan (Warner Bros) as well as lending her unique vocal style to Mass
MC's Triple-JJJ hit "BBQ Song," Thorn has also performed regularly in some of
Australia's leading nightclubs including Embassy, Mr Goodbar, The Cave (Star
City Casino) and Melbourne's Crown Casino, only taking time out to win the 2000
Big Day Out MC Battle and land lucrative support slots for visiting
international acts such as King Kapisi, Souls of Mischief and Foreign Legion.
Thorn has worked with Mahalia Barnes and her R&B band Chill, both in
the recording studio and on the live circuit. In addition, she has perfomed live
with Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes and has toured The
Jimmy Barnes European Tour, 4 countries in 5 weeks: U.K, Ireland, Holland and
Germany.
Thorn has also recorded 2 tracks with Kool Keith and Mark Live in Adelaide. Unrealeased.
Thorn's solo debut album, "Pages from a B-Girl's Diary" is solely produced by
DMC and ITF champion DJ Skizo. Which features only the best for the best.
