Sounds Like: An eclectic merger of synthesized and organic tone fused together to create a hybrid, rich with melody and a human feel that only live instrumentation can provide. Nordic Soul crosses many genres and moods, but there are elements that remain consistent through the production, including: sequenced rhythm (mostly sample based), analog synthesis (Arp and Moog), granular synthesis (Max/MSP, Pluggo), somber melody (often played by guitar or Fender Rhodes), heavy basslines and pop song structures. Though certain sounds and ideas may bring about comparisons to other contemporary electronic producers in the Techno, Hip Hop and IDM worlds, Nordic Soul prefers to remain ambiguous, writing music based on emotion and not category.
