View Marc on the streets of New York asking New Yorkers their opinion.I guess people probably know me best as the guy behind the rhino logo. Then again, some of you may know me as theguy that tagged the President's plane and overturned the anti-graffiti laws in NYC. Or you may know me as the guywho founded Complex magazine, the guide to what's good with men's gear.
Well, here's a little more. Take notes as there will be a quiz later.
Back in the early 90s, with just six t-shirts and a fingerful of dollars, I launched *ecko unltd. While mostbrands have come and gone, we’re still here representing the culture that I love. Today, the Ecko brand carries afull line of gear for men, women, and kids.
But as I grew older I realized that I needed to expand my look, so I launched my signature line, Marc Ecko Cut &Sew. It's for the guy who grew up with the culture but also needs to maintain a solid 9-5. Since no one wants todress like their pops (I know I don't), I made the line a mix of downtown chic paired with Wall Street proper.
I have a few other things that help to keep me busy. I have a partnership 50 Cent to create G-Unit Clothing. Backin the early part of the century, I brought one of the most respected skate brands in the east coast, Zoo York, into the family. And a couple of years ago, I copped Avirex, one of the most respected urban brands to ever drop.
In the beginning of the year, I also launched Marc Ecko Entertainment. In Feb. 06 we dropped Getting Up: ContentsUnder Pressure for PS2, Xbox and PC. I just put a MoonMan on my mantle (now I have some use for it) for the bestvideo game soundtrack at this years’ MTV VMAs. I'm proud of it. Look for some more games coming from us soon.
Right now I’m bulding a huge store on 42nd street in NYC. That's going to be a big one when we open those doors.Until then, it's fun watching the Zoo York skate team flip tricks in there.
I like to create. I like to design things. Whether its gear, magazines, video games, toys, or whatever. I'm allabout taking elements from my life experiences and making something that's larger. and more meaningful. Somethingthat other people can relate to. In my lifetime I've been blessed and have had the opportunities to find successin my passion as a designer and entreprenuer.
So yeah, that's me. Hit me up, we'll talk.
