About Me
The Lost Property Office is a rock-band born in Rome in 1995 which is composed by: Daniele De Santis, vocal and acoustic guitar, Roberto Piferi bass guitar, Dario De Santis drums, Marco Matacotta keyboards, Antonio Calvosa, lead guitar.
The choice of the band's name is due to the idea of rapresenting in their songs, feelings, emotions, and dreams, and everything that is lost in everyone's daily routine.
At the beginning the band's repertoire was based on U2, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Nirvana's covers, who have deeply influenced their musical background: among them, a particular role was played by an american song-writer who is matchless, Jeff Buckley.
Later, at the end of the 90's, the band started to create their own original songs, including them in their performances, which were characterized by quite simple arrangements inspired to a grunge style.
As regards the members of the band, even in the Lost Property Office rose up the first misunderstandings that led in the september 2002 to the replacement of Fabio Bartolucci with Dario De Santis, Daniele's brother. Although these problems, 2002 is a foundamental year for the Lpo's history: just in november the band recordes, at the  Locomotore Recording Studio, his first EP completely self-produced. It contains 4 tracks (In my head,Be,It's Everything, Because of you), where the contribution of Luigi Di Filippo and Matteo Spinazzè, sound engineerings, heightens the sound of the band.
Next to the cd, the Lost Property Office got the first appreciations and the opprtunity to perform in the well-known clubs of Rome as: Black-Out Rock Club, Qube, Classico Village and Radiolondra Caffè. Also the experts started to follow the band and, consecutively, to get their reviews (in may 2003 they were indicated like "the band of the month" on the Black-Out's official web site, while a EP's review was published on the musical site www.dnamusic.it), as well as the first interviews for the television and for the local press.
In june 2003, Marco Matacotta, keyboards, joines the Lpo. At the same time were born new songs that were distinguished by melodies even more charming and original; during the same month the Lpo play at the famous I-Tim tour's stage, performing with notorious bands such as Planet Funk and Simply Red. But it's the national radio channel (Radio1 Rai) that confirms the popularity of the Lost Property Office in the general audience, passing the 10 july 2003 the track "In my head" on the broadcast Demo.
Due to the experience of the I-Tim-tour they get contacts for artistic collaborations with local labels, and in november 2003 the Lpo are hosted in Data Base, a famous Rock's programme in Sky tv.
Unfortunately, it will be the last collaboration of the guitar player Stefano Scipioni with the Lost Property Office, who was forced to leave the band, due to job's requirement. That's the reason why Antonio Calvosa is the new lead guitar of the band.
After enriching the new production, the Lpo takes part to "EMERGENZA 2004" winning on the 10 june the national final in Rome, with the opportunity of performing to the Taubertal Openair festival 2004 in Rothenburg.
In the 2005 the band continues to play in the most important music clubs in Rome: Jailbreak Live Club and Il Locale.
The 2006 shows the new EP "True Atmosphere" that conteins again 4 tracks, 2 in english and 2 in italian: When the stars go crazy, Fragile, Senza limite, True Atmosphere.
In their last exibition, the Lost property Office classified again first in the Rome final of "EMERGENZA 2006" and 6th in the italian national final at the Marcon Festival.
