Blush was formed by brothers Andrew and Matt Cushman along with sister Mary Cushman in May of 2001. Conceived in a stagnant Akron/Canton music scene the band immediately grew out of its surroundings and attained a rapidly increasing regional buzz. Quick to capitalize on their growing notoriety the band completed writing and began recording what would become their debut release simply titled Blush. The bands self titled release was a sublime use of melody, layers and hooks that featured such radio friendly songs as Look At Me, Alarm, and Living For This. Released in 2002 industry insiders quickly took notice and the bands music began to appear on national television on such high profile shows as MTV's Tough Enough (Look At Me) and ABC's Eight Simple Rules (Alarm). 2002 found the band performing on Tony Hawks Birdhouse Tour as well as select dates on the Vans Warped Tour. In 2003 the band was joined by bassist Jayson Benn who immediately made an impact by solidifying the rhythm section as evidenced by the bands increasingly powerful live performances. As the band began working on a follow up CD the songs took on a darker yet more ethereal feel with a lyrical depth that beguiles Mary Cushmans' 21 years of age. With a 6 octave range and perfect pitch Mary began an exploration of harmony and layering that is both angelic and seething. As the songs began to take shape the band was joined by yet another sibling, Gavin Cushman, whose textural comprehension brought range and dynamics to Andrews cerebral playing. 2005 finds the band completing From The Falls To The Path(Rust Records), their 13 song opus which was engineered by Bill Korecky and mixed by Mike Zirkel. Their latest release promises to grab your attention from start to finish and leave you craving more!
