About Me

TJ Huntley For Mayor of Houston
I grew up in a poor family in rural America. Some would call it a farm. I was very different from the rest of my family. While they were out hunting, fishing and camping I would be studying the stock market, reading financial news and thinking of ways to make and save money. I am glad I grew up poor because it taught me the meaning of a dollar. I remember waking up early in the morning and going to work every day and how I dreaded it. I worked and I saved for several years and that was the story of my life. I didn't know what I was saving for at the time, but I knew it was going to be some business venture. At the age of 21 is when I started my first business in construction. At the age of 22 I started a real estate venture that still exists today and I own and operate from Houston using the internet and over cell phone. At the age of 25 I started investing on the New York Stock Exchange. This really helped me learn about business and to know the markets and to be watchful of unpredictable downturns and upward momentums.
I temporarily moved to Dallas TX about 8 years ago for a 3 month vacation. My intent was to stay 3 months and move back to Missouri and pursue more business ventures. At the end of the 3 months I went on a ski trip to Colorado. While there I met some members of Lakewood Church located here in Houston and they invited me to attend. After doing so, I decided to extend my vacation a little longer. While residing here in Houston for the last 8 years I have been very active in the community by serving in outreaches, missions and different events. For over two years I have directed Houston's largest young adult service located at the south campus of Grace Community Church called The Venue. Under my teams leadership we took The Venue from about 250-300 people to over 600 in attendance in those 2 years. It became the largest Christian young adult service in Houston. To God be the glory and many of thanks for those leaders who diligently served.
I am now in the mayoral race for Houston, TX. I have very strong morals and feel that the people in office should exercise strong morals as well. I don't like the idea of our children being subjected to perversion of any kind and I am going to do everything within my God given talents to give Houston a great leadership. I have plans and ideas that are going to make Houston the most attractive city around the nation in terms of living and owning a business. I plan on bringing businesses here from not only around the nation, but from around the world. Under my leadership, Houston is going to prosper.
