In a time where different cultures and ideas are being driven closer together by technological developement, Divided by Silence seeks to reflect this in a harmonious way in its music.
Don L., the lead guitarist and creator of the group, feels that these interactions should be embraced and utilized to improve the quality of life and should not be a source of fruitless conflict. "There is no sound or lyrical idea that will be tossed out simply because it doesn't fit a certain 'style' or will sound 'stupid' to some people. We want our audience to expect more from us just as we will expect more from them."
Jacob A., the voice of DbS, is the definition of diversity. His life experiences and the beautiful way he absorbs information coats the music in dramatic tones whether it's in a soft whisper or a demolishing scream. Regardless of delivery, the lyrics always have an eloquent flow.
Ricardo M., second guitarist, adds balance and passion to the overall sound, and his energetic playing is an exponential amplifier to the performance. His determination and diligence is also a great component to the current and future developement of DbS. He's also the best looking; but sorry ladies! He's taken.
And then we met him, an outsider named lowphat, with skills in the low-frequency zones, Chris would come to be a major part of the over all flow of the DBS familia. With his own brand of everything holy and that which does not take your shit in stride, the rest of the bands history slowly fell appart and into place...
In our modern age of social sickness and televised disease, products with any sort of vision often become lost in commercial translation and self-inflicted ignorance, creating the need for the boys to infect those whose souls remain intact with the wickedest of rhythms.
