lamoa

The swedish singer moa janes and der liebe mario (git&programming) formed lamoa [l`amu:a] in 2003. By coincidence they met each other at a tramwaystation and couldn´t stop talking about...what you think?....of course music. After this night they often met up for jamming and later on they started composing together. At the beginning of their performance they were only affected by acoustic music. The more they learned about their wishes to express themselves in a certain way in music, the clearer a process of dealing with electronic music started. Mario has already composed the electronic music when moa comes into play singing on the tracks. His workingprocess is multi - staged and starts with composing, playing guitar, piano and programming synthetic instruments as well as developing sounds and moves on to solid technical knowledge and an admirable will to shoot troubles that occur during this procedure. Moa has been composing the acoustic songs, writing the lyrics and as time passed by she also started to arrange them, working out backing vocals and writing violin-lines which probably will be performed on stage in the beginning of January. After some seesaw whether the first album production should be acoustic or electronic, they finally arrived at the decision to produce the electronic one first. Parallel they are moving forwards in composing both acoustic and electronic songs. After 2005 Silke Kindler joined the band playing the double bass. In July 2007 the need for a rhythmic section got really urgent and they made friends with Bernhard Wolf who 2005 returned from london where he had taken his bachelor degree for popular music on the Drumtech Powerhouse (TVU). Since a couple of months he became a part of lamoa´s very heart and have been their gifted drummer since then. Besides he is an enthused drumteacher in several schools and is also playing with The Baffalos! After a short time of reorganisation in the beginning of October 2007 lamoa is glad to have found Thorsten Zimmermann playing the double bass from now on. When he turned up to the audition with his stubbly beard and his hair in a braid we fell for him and his potential to play heart to heart in the proper layer.Infos soon on: www.lamoa.at
