Here's what I like: the smell after a spring rain--which i rarely get to experience since I live in the desert; the feeling of wet clay between my fingers; playing with my cats; seeing live music; change of seasons--again, not happening so much in the desert; finding really cool rocks; someone playing with my hair; receiving compliments; listening to Puccini operas REALLY loud; blue skies with big, fluffy, white clouds; reading a really good book; plate tectonics; volcanoes; dinosaurs; hiking; mint chocolate chip ice cream; indian food; thunderstorms; power naps; looking at the stars; Will; my family.

My Interests

Music:

blue october, euforquestra (check them out at euforquestra.com or their myspace page), zeppelin, the dead, g-love, musicals, opera, debussy, bob dylan, classic jazz, big band/swing...i could go on and on and on. it is really a direct reflection of my mood.

Movies:

The Goonies!!, Reality Bites, Moulin Rouge, A Life Less Ordinary, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset

Television:

TV's dumb and yet, I continue to watch it all the time. The Office is my current fave, along with the old stand-bys like Friends and Beverly Hills 90210 (my guiltiest of guilty pleasures!). I love science shows, especially if they're about any geologic phenomenon--because ROCKS ARE AWESOME!!!

Books:

I LOVE anything by Tom Robbins, but "Still Life with Woodpecker" and "Another Roadside Attraction" are my favorites. I also read a lot of Anne Rice, Stephen King, and Kurt Vonnegut. "Life of Pi" is an amazing book!! "Eat Pray Love" is one of the greatest books I've ever read!

why i love field camp...

so, i have been told by many geology students that have attended field camp that it is a terrible, miserable experience and i have come to the conclusion that it is because they didn't come to MY fiel...
