Cano Fino

Layout made by Red Dragon Designs Puerto Rican native, Abel Martinez, known by his fans as “Cano Fino” born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on September 29th. Cano Fino was raise with his mother and two brothers. He jumped back and forth from the Island of Puerto Rico to the Bronx, NY until he was fourteen years old. His musical interest arouse by the age of eight year old. Living in the suburbs near the coast in the small town of Vega Baja, listening to Spanish Hip Hop was part of his every day life. Cano Fino explains. “Caserio Reggeaton had very strong content and became censored, that’s when it was then switched to bailoteo”. Living in the Bronx, NY Cano Fino absorbed everything that surrounded him, learning from personal experiences and others. The street of New York have embraced Cano Fino with certain lessons, lessons that he has taken to his advantage and put them all on paper. When Cano Fino writes his lyrics, he expresses his feelings and let out any frustration stress, and anger in the form music. At the age of sixteen, Cano Fino got his first job working at street fairs and carnival. Watching people enjoy themselves inspired Cano Fino to follow his dreams. Smiling, Cano Fino remembers. “In high school my friends and I use to sit in the lunchroom and just freestyle Spanish Hip Hop. I can still hear the ooh’s and ahh’s as I spit my knowledge”. Although music has been his passion, Cano Fino also kept off the street with others activities, such as basketball, baseball and street skating. “I am good at sports”. Cano Fino states. Although, Cano Fino has reached financial comfort and maintains a good job, he feels he can dedicate himself to his passion, which is music. Cano Fino got his stage name “Cano Fino” from family in Puerto Rico at the age of two because of his dirty blonde hair color due to the tropical sun. He added the “Fino only two years ago when people acknowledge his lyrics as “fine knowledge”. Cano Fino has written over 30 songs, which he loves all the same. His unique flow consists of reggeaton, gangsta, hip hop and club bangers. His favorite style is club bangers because, “I like to see people enjoying themselves and moving to my music”. Cano Fino expresses. His original inspirations are Vico-C, Baby Shaba, Mc Ceja, Mexicano, Chezina, among others. Cano Fino has recorded with Tainy and Supranos. He would like to collaborate with Tego Calderon, Don Omar, and Wising Y Yandel. Performing Cano Fino at first would get nervous; however, he now finds it exciting. “Performing is an adrenaline rush to me, it’s my drug. Music is my relaxation, jokingly Cano Fino says. A fan to the ladies, Cano Fino is single by choice. “I’m single because I’m dedicated to my music. I’m married to my music. And I’m focused”, Cano Fino expresses. His lyrical blessing is “Incomparable”. Never forgetting who he is and where he came from, at the age of twenty-three years old. Cano Fino has mastered a unique lyrical achievement that many have not been able to do in a lifetime.
