Brent Rowan is a freelance saxophonist, composer, arranger and director of music working in Guelph and the surrounding area. He is the founding director of the Centre Wellington Youth Band, the Village Band at the Village by the Arboretum, the Guelph Youth Jazz Ensemble, the Tritone Studio Jazz Band, and the New Horizons Band for Guelph. He has been musical director for productions of Grease, Footloose, and Bye Bye Birdie and was the assistant conductor of the Guelph Concert Band for five years. Brent has a solid career as a Jazz Educator and Performer. He performs on the saxophone, clarinet and flute at music festivals, concerts, weddings, various club dates and private parties. He performs in a wide variety of jazz ensembles ranging from straight ahead small groups to traditional big band groups, also exploring his musical creativity within improvised music and original compositions.
