The Sambhali Project aims to provide women living in impoverished areas of Rajasthan, India with skills to ensure self sustainability and to assist their families and communities. We currently teach fabric & ceramic arts skills to local women in order to establish income generating skills. Each successive group of women trained as fabric artisans teaches the next group, and so on down the line.We also provide paid work in safe and clean environments and general education; Including English language classes, general health instruction & an AIDS/HIV awareness program. Our primary goal is to initiate income sustainability for impoverished women in India. Secondarily, we hope to have created a comfortable and safe place for discussion, where issues such as HIV/AIDS and basic human rights may be addressed.
