The band was formed as a project in 2005 carrying the name ’Mirthless’. The original line-up, which consisted of two guitarists and a drummer, was changed a bit as more members were taken in and sacked. By the summer 2006 the project was a real band which rehearsed together.
The name was changed to ’Scaur’ (which is old Scottish Gaelic language and means cliff) as there already was an active band with the older name.
The band rehearsed and in October 2006 they recorded their first demo which includes three tracks and bears the name ’Addiction’. Then they played about ten gigs before Aki left the band because he didn’t had enought time to give 100% to Scaur.
Veikko joined band in end of summer 2007 and hard practising started; for Veikko to practise all songs, old and new and for the rest of the band to practise new songs for demo number 2!
