Ebakontrabassipärane 9’56 (2008) – Mixed piece for 2 doublebasses, turntable and electronics

Ebakontrabassipärane with its title derived from an Estonian play on words meaning “not suitable for contrabassâ€, combines the sonic possibilities of unusual instruments, such as the turntable and electronics, with the concept of coalescing instrumentalists to create a ‘super instrument’. This ‘super’ role is assigned to the contrabasses, for their wide range of timbres is exploited to confront the ones generated electronically.

The Girl, the Bird and the Monk (04’48)

Electroacoustic piece based on frequency modulation synthesis and the processing of bell sounds such as the celesta and the singing bowl. Using harmonic richness as a theme, the frequency modulation sounds were chosen to emulate and create a contrast from the real bell sounds.----------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------

Culture Jam plantea un estado de sordera derivado del exceso de conceptos y texturas sonoras que al principio aparecen claros y concisos, pero que inevitablemente crecen en complejidad hasta un punto donde nos saturan y dejamos de escuchar sus mensajes, mezclándose y convirtiéndose en una mermelada ruidosa y ‘desinformativa’ que induce una incapacidad de escucha crÃtica, donde no podemos discernir sonidos ni conceptos entre sÃ.
