Carmen Sherry was born in Malta, an island in the Mediterranean Sea, in 1948 in a small town called Haz-Zebbug. From an early age she showed a talent for singing. She first started singing with the local Catholic Action group under the supervision of musician and conductor Spiru Zammit. In her teens she sang in various entertainment locations in Malta including The Premier Valletta, Brittania Valletta, Hilton Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Buskett Road House and L’Armada. She was also invited to Canada to give shows to the Maltese immigrants in the 1960s. At the time she also lead a local TV programme called The Carmen Sherry Show. She then recorded some songs with RCA records and did several shows in Italy as promoted by RCA. One of the songs recorded with RCA was ‘Brucia Ragazzo Brucia’ from the film that bears the same title. She got married in 1973 and moved to Sicily where she had 2 children following which period she chose to reduce her singing commitments in order to dedicate herself to her family. Now her children are grown up and are involved in the music industry as well. Carmen Sherry now sings in various entertainment locations mostly in Taormina and Giardini Naxos but also in other areas in Sicily.
Carmen Sherry è nata a Malta, un'isola nel mar Mediterraneo, nel 1948 in una piccola cittadina chiamata Zebbug. Sin da piccola mostrò talento nel cantare. Iniziò a cantare con il gruppo locale dell'Azione cattolica sotto la supervisione del musicista e conduttore d'orchestra Spiru Zammit. Durante la sua giovinezza cantò in vari luoghi di intrattenimento maltesi inclusi The Premier Valletta, Brittania Valletta, Hilton Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Buskett Road House e L’Armada. Fù anche invitata in Canada ad esibirsi per gli immigrati maltesi del luogo, tutto ciò negli anni sessanta. Nello stesso periodo condusse anche un programma televisivo chiamato 'Carmen Sherry Show'. In seguito incise diversi dischi con l'etichetta RCA e fece diversi spettacoli in tutta Italia appoggiata dalla stessa casa discografica. Una delle canzoni incise con l'RCA fù ‘Brucia Ragazzo Brucia’, colonna sonora dell'omonimo film. Si sposò nel 1973 e si trasferì in Sicilia dove mise alla luce due figli e da quel momento decise per diversi anni di ridurre i suoi impegni lavorativi per dedicarsi alla famiglia. Carmen Sherry oggi si esibisce in diversi locali ma prevalentemente a Taormina e nella costa ionica siciliana.
