Glödande Bröder is made up of the three members Peter “Unic†Boberg, Carl “Sketchy†Malmer, and Johan “Tungus†Malmer. Carl and Peter first met in highschool. A shared love of music and beer brought the two together and Carl actually introduced Peter to hip-hop on a bus home from a school ski-trip as showed Peter his latest record purchase, Black Sunday by Cypress Hill. Johan, Carl..s younger brother, has pretty much had Peter in his life as well since then. Johan was writing lyrics early on, inspired by Swedish rap acts such as Just-D and Petter. Inspired by his brother, Carl also began writing down his own lyrics, instead of just rapping along B-Real and the Beastie Boys. Peter, having his roots in rock, eventually bought some basic studio equipment that was set up in his parents house in Kungälv (Glödande Bröder actually still records in the same house). After finally convincing Johan and Carl to spit some of their raps, the three started recording in the fall of 2003.
The music, however, wasn..t taken to seriously at the time. Peter and Carl went back and forth to the alps for their love of skiing and snowboarding, while Johan stayed back home working and studying. During the first two years, the still un-named band had only recorded a few songs. In the fall of 2005, Peter, Carl and Johan recorded the two songs “Nästa Nivå†and “Röjer Bandaren†which became instant hits among their friends. Some what joking, Carl proposed the name “Stench Brothers†for the band. It stuck with them for about one year. After another, and final so far, season in the alps, Carl and Peter came back home in the spring of 2006. Wanting to put more effort in to making music, Stench Brothers changed their name to Glödande Bröder and recorded the six track EP “Först Ut†during the summer of 2006. Coming fall the same year, Peter moved to Östersund to study. Johan and Carl then bought some basic studio equipment (Peter brought all of his, more advanced, gear with him to Östersund), built a micbooth, and went back to work, Peter contibuting with sending beats and mixes over e-mail and coming home whenever the band was putting on a show.
Glödande Bröder worked like this for over a year and half and by early summer 2008 they had an extensive selections of songs and projects. With Peter home for the summer, Glödande Bröder put together the mixtape “Framåt! Framåt!†during the summer of 2008 and it is their recent released material. Not having a record deal, the band has made all distrubution hand-to-hand, through the internet, and by word of mouth.
