Hi. My name is Matthew Newtion, and I am a D-A-M-S (dancer; actor; model; singer)...or atleast I'm studying to be.I am currently training at WAC Media and Performing arts and I have another year to go before I graduate. It has been an intense process...who knew learning to be an 'artiste' was sooo much hard work...? But seriously though, I wouldn't change it for the world.I am a vocalist first and foremost. When it comes to my vocals, I would say that my voice is best suited to songs which draw from older styles. I draw influence from old jazz standards, old school r'n'b, gospel, hip hop and soul.With 1/2 my studies out of the way and another year and a half to go, I am both eager and (almost) ready to sing professionally.I am a strong dancer who is currently in the process of starting up a dance troupe which I hope will be different from those that are out there...so keep an eye out for D4DS (Dance for Dance Sake)!!!Where dance is concerned, my ideas are inspired from a wide base of areas ranging from hip-hop and street to ballet. from contempoprary to African styled movements.Ideally, I would like to set up a troupe that combines and draws on inspiration from wherever the hell it likes and makes it it's own. I dont want to stick to the same mould that is it out there.I like to challenge myself, and hope to keep on giving my voice and peformance style diversity. I enjoy trying new genres of music, and creating harmonies that arent the norm, as well as pushing the boundaries of what is classified as dance.
