About Me

The life of Brett Cosgriff is a sad and painful one. Born to disappointed parents on the 26th of October 1987 in Melbourne, Australia, Brett Thomas Cosgriff is still yet to show his full potential. Several months after his birth, his parents declined a stalk of corn from a wealthy industrialist in return for their baby, a decision they would come to regret.
At a young age, Brett learnt to play the cowbell, and it was from then on that Brett flourished. Playing at packed-out venues such as the Frankston Community Centre and the Seaford Retirement Home, Brett began turning heads. In early 1992, he was mentioned in some of the biggest cowbell-related magazines in the nation including Cowbell Weekly and That's My Cowbell. Managing to transcend the genres of reggae, folk and christian death metal, Brett's critically acclaimed debut album For Whom The Cowbell Tolls, which featured the hit single Cowbell From Hell, went platinum selling 12 copies (1 of which was later resold at a carboot sale). In 1995, Brett was nominated for 3 Golden Cowbells including Best Male Cowbeller, Best New Talent and Best Album, but failed to appeal to the judges, scoring no votes. It was at this stage of his career that Brett became disallusioned with the music industry, firing his manager and turning to drugs and alcohol. His once upbeat music turned emo with his final album Fuck you All, being pulled from shelves because the cover contained satanic images.
It was then that Brett left the music industry. Deciding to give up his rockstar lifestyle, he moved to Nepal where he spent three years trying to find his inner self. Unfortunately, upon returning to Australia, doctors informed him that what he had found was not his inner self but the foetus of his unborn brother, which was lodged in his back.
In 2006, with the help of local criminal activist, Ryan Hopping, Brett published a series of books regarding the popular passtime of 'taking it on the throw'. The book sold almost 10,000 copies in its first week of release. It remains a vital guide for anyone who wishes to 'take life on the throw'.
Brett has recently taken up line dancing and his quickly become a bright prospect in the sport, with officials hopeful he could push for a medal in Moscow 2009. His career will be watched with interest.
