Acacius began in 2005 with Matt, Dill, Ross, and thier great friend Greg. Matt was asked to play at some fundraiser for the school. Matt said he had a much better band than one he was previously seen in (which was a complete and utter lie. but no one knew.) Following the promise of a dank band, Matt went looking for other band members. Ross had interest in bass, Dill was scheduled to have his first drum lesson in a week or so, and Matt had been playing guitar for two months months. Thier friend Greg had never sang before. What a sweet band, right?
After several months, Black Eyes & Broken Hearts (as they had dubbed themselves) vitrually died out with Gregs departure. After a summer of occasional band practices (Matt now singing) and the arrival at High School, Black Eyes & Broken Hearts officially crumbled.
Then an oportunity struck: Andover High School was having a field day and needed bands to play. Black Eyes & Broken Hearts said "lets play!" They needed a second guitarist to perform live. Then an amazingly lucky coincidence occured; Matts friend Marion introduced him to her friend Craig. After learning he could play guitar, Matt asked him to come and jam with his band and learn some shit for the field day. Craig was not happy with the name, nor were the rest of the band. After...4?...name changes (When Darkness Dreams and Remedy for Lies to name a few) they finally settled on what we all know and love today.
Acacius tries their best to bring a unique and interesting brand of alternative rock to the table. A blend of melodic, dark, and powerful guitaring and creative and heavy drums. A collaberation of lead-like bass riffs and powerful, clean vocals, as well as hardore screaming. They've been working non-stop on creating songs no one has really hard before. They love what they do and wont be stopping any time soon. (except for Nachos)
Hey, Thanks for helping me out, whoever helped out with the Warped Tour/Mayhem Promotions. :D -Joey
