About Me

Stop Puppy Mills
Puppy Mills are mass breeding facilities. The dogs are kept in terrible conditions, and are later sold to pet shops, newspaper ads, or internet sites. Many of the puppies that are born in puppy mills have behavior and/or health problems. After breeding dogs are used in a puppy mill they are often killed, abandoned, or sold to another mill. Never buy a puppy from a pet shop, adopt! See pictures of puppy mills: 1 2 3
Stop BSL
Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is the regulation of your the right to own a dog, based solely on its breed. The most commonly banned breed is the Pit Bull. Pit Bulls have a reputation for being aggresive because many of them are trained to fight. Pit Bulls can become aggresive without any training, but this can be true for any dog. These sweet dogs are outlawed in some places because of their reputation, and many owners are forced to give up their dogs or leave the state.
Spay/neuter your dog!
What happens when your dog has a litter of puppies, and you can't find homes for all of them? You give them to the local animal shelter, but what happens to them there? Some, or maybe all of them, will be adopted, but what about the ones that aren't? So many dogs are killed just because they weren't adopted. You can help this by spaying/neutering your dog. It's a simple and relatively inexpensive procedure, and it can reduce many health risks. Spaying your female dog can reduce the risk of mammory and uterine cancer, and neutering your male dog can reduce the risk of testicular cancer, as well as helping to prevent unwanted behavior such as roaming and marking territory.
