ATRIUS

On January 12th, 1989 - Atrius a.k.a Aron Demetrius Young was born to mother Theresa Young & father Gary Hames in Brooklyn,NY. Living in Flatbush and then at 9months, Atrius was taken to his Grandmothers home along with his older brother. There they lived with their parents and grandparents. As a baby, his grandmother Joan would take care of her grandchildren as if they were her own children. Soon Atrius.. what he has gone/is going through, seen others go/going through, and turned them into songs. At the tender age of 13, he began to write lyrics TOO mature for his own age. After being told that he should write for his own age, he stopped showing others his material.At 15 he wrote what he would call his most emotional song ever, "Letter 2 My Father". Speaking out about being neglected, abused mentally & sometimes physically, by his own father. He vented on how it felt not to have a father to be there for special events and for encouragement. 2003, Atrius began his first year as an volunteer hip-hop choreographer to his old schools after school program.In 2004, he was accepted to SUMMER STARS Performing Arts Camp and there he performed "Letter 2 My Father" his time performing his own work infront of others than family. Later that year of 2004, his Grandmother(who raised him since 9months)passed away on October 23rd, due to breast cancer. Atrius felt lost and not in control...for once he felt alone and scared. He wrote a song called "Sunshine" which expressed about his feelings towards the death of his grandmother, saying that she will always be there for him and that he could feel her presence, along with explaining his love for her will always live.Four years later he is still writing, singing, rapping, & dancing. His lyrics have become heart-felt, real, and very experienced. Stating that his lyrics can and will relate to everyone in the world, because he feels that he is not alone in how he feels and reacts to situations.
