MOD

I'm a Sydney born and based artist who was first inspired by electronic music in the early 90s and started out as a vinyl dj. In 2003, I sold my decks to set up a studio and began producing my own beats.
For a couple of years I was part of an Australian live dance act and toured Australia and Europe, performing at some infamous festivals around the Globe, including Glastonbury (UK), Love Planet (CZ) and The Big Day Out in Sydney.
Returning home from Europe late 2005, I went solo as MOD to pursue my own musical direction as an electronic artist and DJ. I'd best describe my sound as chunky, electro, techy party music and this is reflected in my dj sets and my own studio productions. I love well produced tracks with really big sound that gets the party people bouncing.
I've been producing music using Ableton Live for a few years and I'm totally hooked. For the past year I've been using Live for digital djing and it's completely changed my approach to djing and live performance. The combination of a laptop and a MIDI mixer for hands on control is perfect for my live sets and unleashes some serious power for on the fly looping, remixing and the mangling of sound with an entire suite of digital effects.
Over the last year I've played parties in Sydney including Zooky, HAHA, Blow and Superstitious. I've recently become involved with the Good Music People who run a bunch of nights at Candy's Apartment and have joined the Young Blood crew so I'm looking forward to playing there over the next few months.
